The 13 Beauty Products to Try in 2018
We've sat down as a group to decide what you should get your hands on this New Year!
Pearlessence Rose Water Hydrating Face Mist ($6-$20): Rosewater is the holy water of the beauty world and you can’t step into 2018 without it! It’s refreshing, soothing, and hydrating all at the same time without being overly powerful or sticky on your skin. It feels like you’ve been graced by the Beauty Gods and your makeup is sure to be bulletproof all day long. It’s also the least expensive rosewater face mist on the market if you buy it at TJ Maxx!
Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter ($34): If you haven’t picked up anything from Fenty Beauty yet, do yourself a favor and get a highlighter! My favorite duo is Mean Money and Hu$tla Baby. I’ve already hit pan on Hu$tla Baby, it’s such a beautiful supercharged peachy champagne that melts into my skin and leaves me glowing all day long -- no touch ups needed.
Seraphine Botanicals Lychee + Gold Rose-Gold Blush ($14): This blush is balanced with the right amount of peachy and gold undertones to complement all skin tones. It gives a healthy glow to your cheeks and works perfectly well alone or used as a luminous topper over a matte blush for that extra pop of highlight. Originally discovered in my Ipsy bag, it’s now become a staple in my everyday makeup routine.
The first product I would like to talk about is the ColourPop Pressed Powder Bronzer in the color Rodeo Drive ($8). It bronzes and also contours if you build it up just a tad bit. It’s super pigmented, and a little goes a long way. It can also work as an eyeshadow for those natural super quick makeup days.
The second product I would recommend is the Everglow highlighter from Ofra Cosmetics ($35). It has a mixture of a white frost, champagne gold, and a deep bronze within the highlighter color wheel, and together it creates the perfect beaming sheen on brown skin. You can also use them individually or use more of one color while mixing to create your perfect color.
The third product that is worth trying in 2018 is the Glossier clear gloss ($14). It’s friendly to all skin tones but would pop so much on us medium to deep tone women because it has an almost glass-like shiny finish. It feels moisturizing on the lips since it has Vitamin E. It can be used alone or on top of your favorite lipstick.
Fourth product worth trying this new year is the Morphe 3502 Eyeshadow Palette ($23). Its deep rich browns, bright fiery reds, and bronze shimmers would look beautiful on all skin tones. You can go from everyday natural look, to bronze goddess, to a smoky sultry look.
NARS NARSissist Palette ($59) Make your eyeshadow routine easier this year! Ranging from deep to light nudes and shimmering golds and peaches, this eyeshadow palette is a must-have in 2018! It’s for everyday usage or a night-out look, I highly recommend this product. This is a limited edition palette so grab it ASAP!
MAC Cosmetic’s Razin Blush ($23) If you haven’t already, you need to try MAC’s Razin blush. This matte blush is my personal favorite for all occasions. I love the way it blends with my skin and complements all types of looks. The best part about this product is that it also serves as an amazing eyeshadow! This is my daily go-to for a crease eyeshadow that blends seamlessly with other shadows. Whether I’m using it as a blush or an eyeshadow, this color truly makes my brown skin POP!
TARTE - CHROME PAINT SHADOW POT ($22): Metallic fans, rejoice! Tarte recently released a new metallic eyeshadow pot available in six colors. The pigmentation in the shadow pots are simply to die for. It is highly recommended to apply this shadow using your fingers. My favorite is Park Avenue Princess, the bronze color makes my eyes pop with just one swatch! This is the perfect product to transform any simple look into a show-stopping one.
MORPHE - DARING METALLIC LIQUID LIP ($12): Nude lipsticks are so 2017. It is all about metallic lips! Morphe just released a new metallic liquid lipstick collection. Coming in a range from mauves to deep plums, this liquid lip is sure to make a statement when you walk into any room. The formula is not drying compared to most liquid lipsticks and it smells like chocolate! If you’re looking for a new liquid lipstick without breaking the bank, this is definitely one worth trying out!
24 Karat Roseate Glitter Shadow by Star Crushed Minerals ($10) This loose glitter is a great way to start out the new year with a bang! If you are a fan of rose gold or firework esque glitter you’ll love this product and brand. SCM has a range of great pigments and glitters that will add something special to your makeup collection. Many products are even under $10 and will last for a while!
Cloud Paint by Glossier ($18) For those of you that love a natural looking cream blush, try out Cloud Paint by Glossier. Famous for their natural beauty products this product is a holy grail for a quick dose of color on the cheeks. The formula comes out like a light wash of paint and can be easily blended into the skin. A little goes a long way so it’s worth the price!
