#ShineOn: Nail the Glitter Eyeshadow Trend
It's time that we all say bye to our matte shadows and say hello to glitter palettes! The glitter trend is releasing the inner artist in everyone, and the trend has been seen all over the runway this fashion month!
Brands like Opening Ceremony, Fenty x Puma, Jeremy Scott and so much more have rocked the glittery eye or facial jewels this runway season. Jeremy Scott placed three jewels under the eye and accompanied it with glitter on the nails and a glowy complexion. At the Anna Sui show, Pat McGrath placed a single silver glitter line down the center of the eye.
There isn't necessarily a right or wrong way to achieve the perfect glitter eye. As we said, this trend calls out the inner MUA in everyone. However, we do have some tips and tricks to help you shine bright like a diamond!
We know glitter can be a mess to apply, but with some tips and practice, you’ll master it! Start off with a fresh clean eye. It all starts with the base.
After, prep the eye by priming the eye. We recommend the LA Splash Eyeshadow Base, NYX Professional Glitter Eye Primer and the Too Faced Shadow Insurance Glitter Glue Bonding Eye Shadow Primer.
After, apply the glitter. We love the MAC Pigments, NYX Professional Body and Makeup Glitter, Makeup Forever Glitters and BH Cosmetics Glitter Collection. As for glitter eyeshadows, Stila Magnificent Metals and Touch In Sol Metallic Liquid Foils are cult favorites.
For any fallout, just use tape to remove it. However, it's always a good practice to do your glitter eyeshadow first, and then apply your foundation. But, if you end up doing your foundation first, apply loose powder under your eyes before you apply loose glitter. Once you're done with the eyes, you can brush off the loose powder with a fluffy powder brush. Plus, this technique mimics the "baking" process many beauty gurus use to set their concealer. It's a classic two-in-one technique!
Now go out there and shine bright!
