Heyyy, Girl!

Mocha Girl Beauty was founded with one goal in mind: to inspire a community of Brown women who are often excluded and overlooked in both the beauty and fashion industry. We are aiming to build the first-ever digital media destination platform that produces original content centered around the Millennial Brown woman!

Yas! For our highlighting Queens, this review is especially for you!

For this staff review, we were able to get our hands on QueensLyfe Cosmetics’ line of highlighters. Now, we all love an amazing highlighter, but this brand is aiming to disrupt the beauty industry in so many different ways.

Founded by Gina Hepburn, QueensLyfe Cosmetics is based in Connecticut and was built on family bonding.

“My teenage daughter was the inspiration behind the creation of QueensLyfe Cosmetics. She was getting into makeup and it was something to help grow our bond. We would make our own lipsticks and lip glosses for fun,” said Hepburn.

“I enjoyed it so much that I decided to monetize off of my new found hobby,” said Hepburn. Her daughter still plays a major role in the company and the duo is hoping to become a well-known household makeup brand.

We were able to try their signature line of highlighters (in the shades):

  • Hazel ($12)

  • Zion ($12)

  • Aurous ($12)
