I Spent a Week with Pamela Metamorphosis Products & Here's What I Thought....
I had to pleasure to test and try a few of Pamela Metamorphosis’ products, tailored specifically for my oily-combination skin type. Personally, my skin changes based on the weather. During the winter, my skin is more normal, with little to few greasy areas. However, during the spring and summer, my t-zone tends to flare up and produce more oil. My skin tends to be generally clear, with few breakouts, except for during that time of the month. I exclusively implemented Pamela Metamorphosis’ products into my skincare routine for about two weeks, and every single product has truly made my skin glow for the better! Not to mention, the packaging is A1! I carried the products daily in my gym bag, and there was never any spillage, and the packing never broke or got any scratches. As a appreciator of great design, I have to say Pamela Metamorphosis really nailed their packaging.
Energizing Papaya Cleanser ($44): Every morning and night, I cleansed my skin with the Energizing Papaya Cleanser. The cleanser smells absolutely divine, with hints of citrus fragrance. However, the scent is not overpowering and would probably work well with sensitive skin types as well. There’s not better way to start your morning or end your evening with a purifying cleanser that smells good too! The cleanser is formulated with salicylic acid, which is an added bonus if you have issue with acne or blackheads. My skin is generally clear, so I didn’t noticed a difference in terms of acne. However, my skin was more luminous and glowy after using the cleanser, which I enjoyed.
Vitamin C Serum ($78): I’ve never had a good relationship with Vitamin C. A few years ago, I tried a Vitamin C serum from Sephora, as I knew the benefits of Vitamin C could make a big impact on your overall complexion. However, the serum made my skin severely break out. I swore to never try Vitamin C serums again, as I thought my skin was likely allergic. But, I decided to give Vitamin C another chance with Pamela Metamorphosis’ Vitamin C serum. I applied the Vitamin C serum every morning, after applying the glycolic serum. This time around, I didn’t have any negative reactions to Vitamin C! Pamela According to the product page, “Pamela’s unique Vitamin C Complex is scientifically formulated to work in the same way that vitamin C reacts naturally in your body.” I think that the formulation of the serum is spot on, and it’s perfect for even the most sensitive skin types. Plus, the serum has a non-greasy, fast-absorbing texture and it feels milky smooth on my skin.
Retinol ($88): Retinol is one of those skincare ingredients I’ve always been afraid of. I’ve always heard that you need to be extra careful with Retinol, and apply extra sunscreen to keep your skin from negatively reacting. Luckily, Pamela Metamorphosis carries two products with Retinol, one with .25% and the other with .5%. I used the .25% Retinol product, and I don’t think I will ever go back to not using Retinol! I used the Retinol only at night, after cleansing and before moisturizing. It has a serum-like texture, with a creamy, lightweight feel on the skin. Like the glycolic serum, I think Pamela Metamorphosis’ Retinol is another product that will become a staple into my nightly skincare routine. My skin has never looked so smooth!
Green Tea Moisturizer ($52): With oily-combination skin, I’m very particular about my moisturizers. I don’t like a sticky or greasy texture, and it must feel lightweight on my skin. The Green Tea moisturizer is anything but that! It’s a light, fast-absorbing moisturizer that glides onto your skin like a dream. It has a light scent, but nothing that irritates or bothers my skin. If anything, the scent makes me feel more refreshed and cleansed. The product also works well under my makeup as well, before I apply my primer. The lightweight formula truly works well in combination with the serums, retinol, and my daily makeup primer!
Fresh Facial Cleansing Towels ($1.50 per towel): I have to say, these cleansing towels are the most expensive makeup wipes I’ve tried. However, they are also the best makeup wipes I’ve ever tried! I think you really get what you pay for, as the cleansing towels are thicker than most makeup wipes. I even packed the cleansing towels with me to the gym, that way I have an easy option and no excuse to skipping out on washing up! I’d say, if you’re the type to use makeup wipes daily in place of a regular cleanser at night, these makeup wipes may be for you. However, if you use makeup remover and a cleanser at night, then the drugstore wipes may be just enough.
Glycolic Serum ($48): Tbh, I’ve never been an avid lover of serums. I’ve never found a serum that I enjoyed and I’ve found it to be an unnecessary step. However, the glycolic serum is one product that made the biggest difference in my skin over the past two weeks. I used the serum daily, after cleansing and before applying the Vitamin C serum. One pump of the glycolic serum is just enough to cover my whole face, and it glided on so smoothly! The serum isn’t heavy either, which I appreciated, especially in my t-zone areas. Over the course of the two weeks, my complexion looks brighter and refreshed. I have to say, I will begin to continue using glycolic in my skincare routine, as the results have got me hooked.
Overall, trying out Pamela Metamorphosis products was truly a refreshing experience, both for my skin and myself! The products tend to be on the pricier side, but if skincare is your beauty guilty pleasure, I highly recommend visiting their website and purchasing a few products, especially the glycolic serum and retinol.
