Be Mother Nature in 5 Simple Steps for Halloween
Owning a look such as Mother Nature requires the utmost confidence. Remember, many believed Mother Nature was the creator of the Universe and gave birth to the first human...this isn’t a costume for the weak. Strong minded souls are the only ones who can apply for this look!
For anyone who is brave enough to pull off this absolute fire look, be prepared for major compliments and winning every Halloween contest this year. You should get bonus points for this look alone, because who else would think to make this into a costume? You did! Originality is key for this theme.
Now, there are a few ways to pull this look off. Everyone may envision Mother Nature differently. You have to figure out your own vision for this look and run with it. Get as creative as possible.
We decided to channel a little Nubian goddess for our look, paired with some glammed elements for our interpretation. We started this look off with strong brows and a purple-inspired eye look to represent the wealth, extravagance, and peacefulness of Mother Nature.
For makeup, we recommend making the eyes as bold as possible and adding a touch of gold to the cheeks for more of a sun-kissed look. Besides, what two elements go greater together than Earth and Sun?
Put some wispy falsies on to make you look fluttery and light spirited. This look does not need a heavy contour, just a light sweep of bronzer would be nice. For lips, we would go with a nude or a light pink.
For all those bold enough, face paint will be your best friend for this look--just to make an extra statement. For us, using face paint for our look created a more tribal inspiration. We wanted to sway away from the traditional ivy-covered Mother Nature theme and take the look someplace it has never gone before--back to Africa.
Since our hair is our crown, you should pay extra close attention to this step. You could decorate yourself with some flowers as well, to be on the extra side. Flower crowns offer a more whimsical and delicate touch to the look, but we wanted to elevate it and add both jumbo and small flowers paired with BIG hair. But if you want a toned down look, a half-up curled ponytail would look lovely. Add some dainty flowers in there to make it look like you are one with nature!

Mother Nature never lacks the classic goddess glow! Be sure to use plenty of bronzer and highlighter so you look like you are glowing from within.
For the eyes and lips, you can choose whichever colors suit you best. Don't be afraid to think outside the box and go with colors that aren't traditionally seen as "nature" colors. We absolutely love purple for our Mother Nature!
The focus shouldn't be on your clothes, but rather, your makeup. The makeup for Mother Nature is a lot of work, so show it off! A simple black maxi dress or lightly patterned dress will complement your makeup perfectly.
Perfect your gorgeous locks with nature-inspired accessories of your choosing, whether it be flowers, leaf crowns, or any DIY piece.
