Pop Art Halloween Makeup Text

This artistic makeup trend may seem complex and overly complicated for the casual makeup wearer, but it is actually quite simple! That’s the beauty in pop art makeup, you do not need to be a makeup pro to achieve the look. Of course, be sure to practice the look before Halloween night! Just like your mom said growing up, practice always makes perfect!

Although the makeup is important and the focal point of the pop art look, there are other pieces to consider as well.

The fashion and finding the right outfit to complement the makeup is crucial and cannot be forgotten! While you can buy a premade costume from any Halloween store, you can be crafty and do your own DIY costume.

The focal point of the pop art cartoon look is the makeup, so you don’t need to do much for your outfit anyway! Depending on the cartoon character you choose to be, pick clothing pieces that match your character. Wonder Woman, for example, usually wears high-waisted shorts with a strapless top.

You can use staple pieces already in your closet and accessorize with the right pieces to create the character you wish to emulate. Halloween stores always carry accessorize pieces you can work with for your DIY costume!

You can be the cartoon of your choice and you can take inspiration from our photo shoot and various Instagram posts. No two pop art looks will ever look the same, so don’t fret over the tiny details!

You can use the makeup you already have in your collection to achieve the majority of the look. However, you may need to buy a few products here and there from the Halloween store. For example, for the signature black lining that runs along the face, use the waterproof black eyeliner you already have.

If you need to change the color of your face, use an inexpensive drugstore foundation. Lastly, if you need to buy more colors to accent your face with, Halloween stores usually carry the products you need to achieve the artistic pop art look.

Get those brushes ready! If you are going to try this look, we recommend the following:

  1. Use your favorite moisturizer, primer, and foundation to get this step completed.

  2. Add those colors: Want to create polka dots? Or add in some bright neon colors? Now is the time to do it!

  3. Add those fine details: If you want a glitter effect for this look. Include them now!

  4. Outline! This is where the fun comes in! Using your favorite eyeliner, outline those cartoon features you wish to play with for this look. Here’s a pro tip, if your eyeliner isn’t doing the trick, you can always use a little bit of black face paint to make those features “POP.” Outline your lips, eyebrows, nose and other body parts.

  5. The #YAAS Factor: Here’s how to extra glam this look. You can add your false lashes, bold lip color or even a bright wig. This step is to ensure that you balance your Pop Art look, but also making it glam and fun!
